Alexander Fehling is a stage and film actor from Germany. He is best known for his roles as Staff Sgt. Wilhelm in Quentin Tarantino’s 2009 World War II film Inglourious Basterds and as Jonas Hollander in the Showtime original series Homeland as Claire Danes’ character Carrie Mathison’s boyfriend.
In 2006, he won the Förderpreis Deutscher Film in the Actor category for his performance as Sven Lehnert in the film And Along Came Tourists. He previously received the OE Hasse Prize from Berlin’s Akademie der Künste for his performance as Prince in the theater production of Schneewittchen (Snow White).
Fehling is best known for his role as German Master Sgt. Wilhelm in Quentin Tarantino’s 2009 World War II film Inglourious Basterds. The English captions incorrectly refer to Fehling as a Staff Sgt. In the German version of the film, Fehling also dubs his performance. Fehling made her Showtime debut as a series regular in the fifth season of Homeland, which premiered in October 2015. He portrayed Jonas Hollander, a Düring Foundation legal counsel and the boyfriend of Claire Danes’ character Carrie Mathison.
