Louis Hofmann Biography
Hofmann was born in Bergisch Gladbach’s Bensberg district and raised in Cologne. He was born on 3 June 1997 . His first television appearance was for Servicezeit, an evening magazine show on the WDR Fernsehen television network. He appeared in Die Ausflieger, a segment of the show that tested family recreational activities. He decided to become an actor after two and a half years at Servicezeit and applied to an acting agency. He was later represented by Agentur Schwarz.

He rose to prominence as the lead in the 2011 German film Tom Sawyer [de], and in 2015, he won the Bodil Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role as a teenage German POW in the Danish film Land of Mine. He is also known for his role as Jonas in the German Netflix Original series Dark, which premiered in 2017.
In 2009, Hofmann appeared as a guest star in the legal comedy-drama Danni Lowinski and the television series Der verlorene Vater. He was also in the television movie Tod in Istanbul. He appeared in Wilsberg and Alarm for Cobra 11 in 2010.
In director Hermine Huntgeburth’s 2011 German film adaptation of the classic Mark Twain novel The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, Hofmann played the titular Tom Sawyer. Hofmann was cast as Jonas Kahnwald in Dark, a science fiction thriller that premiered on Netflix on December 1, 2017. His character is one of the main characters and the main love interest for Martha Nielsen. On June 21, 2019, the second season was released. On June 27, 2020, the third and final season was released.
