Rafael Nadal Parera was born on June 3, 1986, in Manacor, Mallorca, in the Balearic Islands, Spain, to Ana Mara Parera Femenas and Sebastián Nadal Homar. His father is a businessman who owns an insurance company, the Vidres Mallorca glass and window company, and the restaurant Sa Punta. Mara Isabel is Rafael’s younger sister. Miguel ngel Nadal, his uncle, is a retired professional footballer who has played for RCD Mallorca, FC Barcelona, and the Spanish national team. As a child, he idolized Barcelona striker Cristiano Ronaldo and gained access to the Barcelona dressing room through his uncle in order to pose for a photo with the Brazilian.
