Sadio Mane is a professional football player from Senegal. Mane plays for the English premier league club, Liverpool, and the Senegalese national team. He has been an instrumental player for Liverpool after joining the club in 2016 from Southampton.
Sadio Mane was born on 10th April 1992 in Bambali, Sedhiou, in Senegal. Mane was originally prevented from playing football by his father who was an Islamic imam. However, the youngster moved from his village of Bambali and settled in Dakar when he was just 15 years old to pursue his football ambitions. After being spotted by football scouts in Senegal, Mane was taken to France where he joined Ligue 2 side, FC Metz in 2011. That same year, he helped Liverpool win the UEFA Champions League trophy after they beat Tottenham Hotspurs by two goals in the final.
On the international side, Sadio Mane pays for the Senegalese national team. He represented Senegal at the 2018 FIFA World Cup tournament and was part of the Senegalese team that won the recent African Cup of Nations tournament. Mane scored the goal that won the team the trophy against teammate, Mohammed Salah’s Egypt.
