Sadio Mane is a professional football player from Senegal. Mane plays for the English premier league club, Liverpool, and the Senegalese national team. He has been an instrumental player for Liverpool after joining the club in 2016 from Southampton.
Sadio Mane was born on 10th April 1992 in Bambali, Sedhiou, in Senegal. Mane was originally prevented from playing football by his father who was an Islamic imam. However, the youngster moved from his village of Bambali and settled in Dakar when he was just 15 years old to pursue his football ambitions. After being spotted by football scouts in Senegal, Mane was taken to France where he joined Ligue 2 side, FC Metz in 2011. The next year, he made his first professional appearance for the team as a 75th-minute substitute in a loss to Bastia.

Mane was transferred to Red Bull Salzburg the following year where he scored the first hat trick of his storied career. He then scored another hat trick the following year. He was able to finish the season as the top scorer within the Southampton team with 15 goals in all competitions.

That season, he finished with a total of 13 goals for Liverpool and was named part of the PFA Team of the Year. His first hat trick for Liverpool came in the UEFA Champions League match against FC Porto. The next season saw him becoming the highest Senegalese goal scorer in the English premier league after scoring 17 times. That same year, he helped Liverpool win the UEFA Champions League trophy after they beat Tottenham Hotspurs by two goals in the final.
On the international side, Sadio Mane pays for the Senegalese national team. He represented Senegal at the 2018 FIFA World Cup tournament and was part of the Senegalese team that won the recent African Cup of Nations tournament. Mane scored the goal that won the team the trophy against teammate, Mohammed Salah’s Egypt.
