Richest IT Companies Topping The World By Revenue Cap

In the world we live in today, technology has become one of the most powerful sectors that have been changing the world over the years. Technology has been shaping the economy of the world by setting new trends and driving transformational changes across all the business sectors in the world. At this point, one can imagine how it would feel like to have been living in the 1630s when there was no technology. It is even quite hard to imagine our world now without technology. 

Now, we all know that technology is where some of the richest businesses reside. The world of technology is a multi-billion dollar industry on its own. So, we decided to bring to your attention the richest tech firms in the world today by looking at their revenues. You may be surprised to see some names that you were not expecting to make the list. You should not think that all of the lists will be American-based companies because Asian companies have also been showing what they can do over the last few years.

Apple $274.51 billion 

Am sure that you are not surprised to see Apple topping the list. The company has been making constant revenue with the release of each new iPhone smartphone over the years. The company, which is based in Cupertino is the most profitable in the world at the moment. As of 2021, Apple, which was founded in 1976 by Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak, and Ronald Wayne, made revenue of $274.51 billion. This is due to the big fan base Apple enjoys which includes some of the wealthiest people in the world. 

  • Samsung $200.73 billion

Again we are not surprised. Apple and Samsung seem to be having some sort of tech battle going for years now as to which of these companies makes the best technological gadgets. Following closely behind Apple, Samsung came in with revenue of $200 billion. One thing to note is that. Samsung does not deal in technology alone. It also has an interest in the making of ships, aircraft engines, turbines, and the sale of life insurance 

  • Alphabet $182.52 billion

If you know of the internet, then you certainly know of google. Most people do not even know that there are other search engines they can use apart from googling since the company owns about 91% of the market share. Alphabet Inc. is the parent company of Google. 

  • Foxconn $181.94 billion

We now have a non-American company. Foxconn is a tech company based in Taiwan and has its headquarters in Taipei City. The company is one of the biggest employers in the world with a workforce of about 1.29 million people across the globe. Foxconn was founded in 1974.

  • Microsoft $143 billion

Now we have landed back in America again and this time around, it is the world-famous Microsoft. Microsoft is the second biggest company in the world and also one of the most expensive in the technology industry. It was founded in 1975 by Bill Gates and Paul Allen. Microsoft is well known for its Windows operating system which brought the company huge profits. Microsoft is now headed by Satya Nadella and is focusing on things like blockchain and machine learning.

  • Huawei $129.18 billion

Huawei is a Chinese technology company that caters to the telecommunications industry. The company designs develop and sell smartphones while also selling telecom equipment to companies such as British Telecom, Motorola, Vodafone, and many more. it was founded in 1987 by Ren Zhenfei. 

  • Dell technologies $92.22 billion

Dell technology is very popular as one of the biggest manufacturers of personal computer systems. The company also offers a wide range of products which includes SmartTV, cameras, printers, and many more. Dell technology was founded by Michael Dell in 1984. 

  • Meta Platforms $89 billion

Meta Platforms Inc. which is based in California is the parent company of Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram. Facebook, which was the initial parent company, was founded in 2009 by Mark Zuckerberg, Eduardo Saverin, and several others at Havard University. It was then renamed Meta in 2021. The same year was also when it recorded its highest sales ever to the tune of $89 billion.

  • Sony $84.89 billion

Sony is a Japanese consumer electronics conglomerate. Sony is one of the biggest companies in the manufacture of consumer electronics in the world. Sony is also one of the biggest video game makers in the world.

  • Hitachi $82.34 billion 

Being a multinational technological conglomerate from japan, Hitachi is a fairly known name in the world of technology. The conglomerate has interests in artificial intelligence among several other technological innovations. Hitachi was founded by Namihei Odaira in 1910 and it is headquartered in Tokyo.
